AIDS Walk Austin 2017 Sharing Agencies
Sharing agencies are local HIV and AIDS-related nonprofit organizations who have formed AIDS Walk teams to raise funds for their respective organizations.
AIDS Services of Austin (ASA) is the oldest and largest AIDS service organization in the Austin Area. ASA provides direct care, case management, nutrition supplementation, and much more to people in the Austin area affected by HIV and AIDS. Through the Q Austin, Women Rising Project, and other support groups, ASA helps to build safe community spaces for at-risk and HIV-positive people.
Allgo works to create and sustain queer people of color activists, groups, organizations, and allies through artistic expression, promoting wellness, and grassroots organizing. We believe that in doing so, together we can radically transform systems and policies toward a collective liberation.
Austin Harm Reduction Coalition
Austin Harm Reduction Coalition (AHRC) is a non-profit volunteer based organization that works to prevent the spread of HIV/AIDS and Hepatitis C for people who inject drugs (PWID) in Austin, Texas. AHRC provides HIV & HCV testing, drug treatment referrals, medical care, overdose prevention and resources to prevent disease transmission such as condoms, alcohol pads, and supplies for safe injection.
C.A.R.E. offers case management services, outpatient substance use treatment services, and mental health services, including both counseling and psychiatric care for people who are living with HIV. In addition, C.A.R.E. has an outreach team that provides community outreach services to people who are at risk for becoming HIV positive, or those who have an HIV diagnosis but are out of care.
Out Youth is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to support and provide services to gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, and questioning youth ages 12 to 19 in Austin and Central Texas. They offer peer support groups, counseling, educational programs, social activities and community outreach.
Project Transitions is dedicated to serving people with HIV and AIDS by providing hospice, housing and support in a compassionate and caring environment.
The David Powell Clinic provides outpatient primary care medical services for adults who are living with HIV and AIDS. Services include family practice, internal medicine, gynecological services, family planning, mental health counseling, social services, nutrition counseling and after-hours telephone assistance.
Community Action provides case management, information, referrals, support, transportation, limited financial assistance for housing, prescription, physician visits, assistance with estate planning, nutritional and wellness counseling.
The Wright House Wellness Center is a haven for people living with or at risk of contracting chronic illnesses, where the mind, body, and spirit are nurtured through prevention, education, care, and compassion in a culturally inclusive setting.
Waterloo Counseling Center is a leading provider of affordable, high-quality psychotherapy services for Austin and the surrounding communities. The Waterloo Counseling Center is a private, not-for-profit organization developed initially to serve the gay and lesbian population, but now serves all those affected by HIV.
